Question classifieds good for sales? or?

Hi,

We are thinking of selling our '08 Safari 25FB (not an SE, reg Safari not a choice) and our '08 Chevy 4WD full-cab 3/4 ton Duramax diesel/Allison tranny truck this Spring.

Are the classifieds on this site successful for sales?

Is the 25FB a popular model? It does not have the panoramic windows or the stainless interior, though it does have matching awnings all around.

Can you recommend the best source for determining the sales price of the Airstream and the truck (don't have to be sold together, just won't sell the truck 'till AS sold, for obvious reasons).

What about consigning the AS for sale? How big a commission should we expect to pay?

Thank you very much for any answers, advice or information that you can share with us!

I have sold 3 or 4 trailers on the AIR classifieds...and they are free!

As for the price, maybe a dealer?

Steve

I've advertised on here a couple of time, and at the same time also on Craigslist locally.

Sold both so fast on Cragislist that I didn't have much time to even get any inquirys from Air classifieds. The last one I sold was an '01 25', and it sold in less than 24 hours at my "asking" price.

I bought mine on here! I suggested to an eBay seller (didn't sell on eBay) to list it here and it sold in less than a week. And it's free.

thanks! anyone else?

Hi and thank you for the responses!

I feel much more confident about using the classifieds, and maybe even Craigslist, though I am very uncomfortable with the idea of people coming to our house.

Any responses to my other questions?

We really appreciate your help!

Maybe consignment? On a local lot. But you would pay. I think you cam get a good feel for people on the phone before you let them come over to see it. But I don't see any other way.

Whenever I'm selling a "large" dollar item, I usually google for things like "airstream for sale" and find the best ranking web sites and post it on those, as I expect that people buying those items would also find those sites, thereby having my ad in front of more prospective buyers. I also use Craigslist which works quite well for almost anything of value.

Bought 2 and sold 1 on this forum. Easy.

thanks very much! I appreciate the feedback and your patience very much.

Still haven't made the decision, but only used AS once last year and just a few times the year before, so DH is stongly leaning towards selling.

Hoping to keep the truck, would love to get a longer AS to live in a few years down the road. Will be hard to give up the FB, my favorite feature, in trade for space.

I sold one here and bought one here; I will do it again. I think only nice people will contact you (no other types are on this site, right?)
