well i offered him a grand for the trailer and he said he woul dneed more than that for it so i dont knwo what to do now because i dotn think it is worth that much in the shape it is in... i priced the things to get the outside fixed up and to make it road worthy and it came to 1900 bucks alone

I'd let him know you plan on giving it a great home, what the additional costs would be and if he can be flexible, maybe offer another $500 and let him know that's your ceiling.

Ask him how much more and try to negotiate from there. If he comes up with some crazy figure because he's seen what some sell for online explain how much work his needs and how expensive it is to rebuild these things. Don't give up and stick to your max price. $1500-$2000 is still not bad unless it's more than you want to spend. Explain what it'll cost you to get it towable as well.
