I have found another 73 Safari, but the current owner indicates that there is no front sofa or dinette. Does anyone have any experience with replacing/rebuilding one of these? Is this a $500 or $1000 item? Will any of the factory 20xx sofas/dinettes fit in a '73 Safari?

Owner has it priced at $3000 firm. From discussions its the typical "as found" condition. It needs tire replacement (axles likely) and all systems/appliances/subflooring are of unknown condition.

We bought a 71 Safari i guess nearly 10 years ago for about 5K..., fridge worked and still does, ac had to be replaced and hot water heater...did cosmetic changes..took us 2 years to find a Safari and yes I agree they do still comand a higher price...all relative to what you are looking for I guess

Thanks for the input! Having been at it for a few months, I've now settled in for a long and patient search. From my monitoring of Ebay, Craigslist, and the AS Classifieds both the Safari and Tradewind are commanding higher prices than I would expect for their condition. Unless I happen to get a new TV, I've decided to go with a sway-eliminating hitch which has opened up the option for a bit longer AS model. I don't expect to go over 30' but its nice to have options beyond 25'.
