2017 Airstream Sport 22fb

I am thinking about buying a 2017 Sport 22fb. The sticker price is around $53,000. I live in the midwest. How far below sticker would be a good deal? Thanks.

We purchased a 2012 Sport22 that we Towed with a 4Runner. We payed list price at Camper Clinic II in Buda TX but they included internal surge protector, stainless steel propane tank cover, anti-sway hitch, and many other smaller extras. We traded the Sport for a 2016 Flying Cloud 27fb and received a great trade-in value. We both retired and enjoyed the Airstream Lifestyle so we doubled down with the 27fb & Tundra. We have met hundreds of Airstreamers in the last 6 years with all sizes & models. Not one person has complained about the price they paid. Airstreams are worth every penny.

I believe the rebate is for the 2016 model year, and the amount depends on the size of the trailer with a maximum of $2500.

What price is finally paid on a given trailer depends on a lot of factors - size of dealership; whether it's a trailer sitting on the lot (and how long it's been sitting there) as opposed to a special order; size/model of trailer; time of year you're buying; phase of moon (OK, just kidding on the last one, I think), to name just a few.

Look around, ask a few different dealers for a quote on the model you're interested in.

People have paid everything from full sticker to good discounts - there's really no wrong price to pay, if the buyer is happy with the deal they got.

Newbie here! My wife and I purchased a 22FB Sport in Oct. of 2015 and there was a 15% discount for the end of the year sale. After using it a few times we would have purchased it anyway!! Airstream of Chicago is where we purchased it, they have since moved to Naperville. Great People!

Just a call out, hunt the AirstreamClassifieds every single day! I found a 2017 16' that was only 3 months old. Price was the amount that was quoted to me from the dealership but... no sales tax, 2500 paperwork fee, etc. I ended up saving over 10k from the amount I would have paid through the dealer.

Warning though, you need to hop on the post ASAP first thing in the morning and be ready to fly, drive, etc to where ever it is. Know the path to financing or have the cash available.

I agree, though in our experience in TX, you pay the sales tax when you apply for a new title, even in a private purchase.

If you are not set on a 2017 new model, you may be able to get a very nearly new (2015-2016-2017) per-owned 22 Bambi at a dealer and get a great price, and the value-add of the dealer walk through and hitch set up.

We looked informally for about 18 months and visited 4 dealers during that time.

We ended up buying a 9 month old, pre-owned 2015 model in July of 2015 (they had been out since the late fall of 2014). We bought it from the dealer in St Louis (who we were very happy with).

We has been there in February of 2015 and looked at all of the units and liked the 22. We weren't really expecting to buy for about another year. A used 22 came into inventory in July and their salesperson called us about it. Good salesmanship!

I have never seen an advertised sell price on the AS Forum Classified Ads at at price less than we paid for the age of our unit.

Our unit was already upgraded with front segment protectors and a power jack which was nice. It still had the plastic on the mattress and that "new" smell.

We got financing thru the dealer which was simple. They gave us a 4 hour walk through. They set up our hitch and brake controller. We could call them if we had questions.

So I am saying don't think that you will necessarily not get a good price on a 22 at a dealer. These are popular units that people sometimes buy and then decide they want to swap for a larger AS, so they appear fairly frequently available.

So we got a same-model-year used unit at a great price.

We paid $50k for a 2018 22FB list price was 54k as I recall. The dealer wouldn’t discount more as it was June, a 2018, and they only had two on the lot.

If you order a new one? Get an overhead cabinet above the dinette. You will need the storage..
