2006 Bambi Safari 19'

I have found a 2006 Bambi Safari 19' located in Ohio. The asking price is $2800 delivered to my home in Mississippi. The owner says that he just wants to get rid of it quickly, explaining the low price. From the limited pictures I have seen it looks to be in clean shape, no major dinks or dings, owner says all systems work fine, with no issues. I have asked him to send me more detailed pictures of the interior and exterior. My problem is that the price just seems almost too good to be true, which makes me think that it might just be. Opinions would be appreciated.

$2800 for a 2006 Bambi, it has got to be a con or stolen or both. Be very, very careful. Like Streamrollin said, "if it sounds too good.........."

Don't even respond. Its part of the scam/virus/process. Craigslist is notorious for the same thin.

Thanks folks, I am done with this guy before it gets nasty. Still debating if I should report the ad to Craigslist or if they even care.
I am still at the very early learning stage about all things Airstream. I will take this as a lesson learned. If it was a local seller I could go check it out, but traveling to Ohio right now is not going to happen. Somewhere out there is a Bambi with my name on it. I will just keep on looking and learning.

*Just had a thought, I wonder if we have any members in the Cincinnati area that could take a look at it. I would like to know for sure that it is a scam.

Good decision. You won't regret walking away, and you are right ... YOUR Bambi will present itself in "the fullness of time." You are far better off seeing any rig first-hand before you put your hard-earned money down. Keep the faith and good luck in your quest for aluminum.

The same ad ( 19' '06 Bambi for $2800) showed up on Craigslist in Orlando, and no doubt in other places around the country. It's a 100% scam. What they're looking for is your bank/credit card information. Stay far, far away.

Latest from "Mike" is that his wife died two months ago, the money is for a birthday present (car) for his daughter and the payment is to be handled thru Yahoo Auto. I asked for some very specific information and photos from him. I don't think that I will be hearing anything else back. This has been interesting and my first expericence with anything dealing with Craigslist. Actually a pretty good learning experience.

Yes this is definitely a scam....Are you looking for a nice Bambi?? I have a 2002 sitting at North Dallas RV...being repaired....tire problem messed up the aluminum around the wheel well...going to sell for around $23,000, special made trailer, 3 awnings...Contact me if you are interested...

Update: I reported the ad to Craigslist as being a possible scam and it has now been removed from the Gulfport, MS listing and of course I have not heard anything back from the seller.

Same ad was in St. Louis Craigslist...considering I paid about that for my 78 Safari I knew it was a scam or they had left a 0 off the price.
