hi booker'
while a/s does occasionally produce something totally new and
not part of the continuum (basecamp)...
and they have made 5 or 6
significant production changes over the last 75 years...
most trailers are siblings clustered by decade/generation.
so 'first year of production' is somewhat misleading or a misunderstanding.
the structural components of the 2004s are no different than those many years running.
a 'new floorplan' isn't really a major change.
in fact the only real differences for that unit would be cosmetics and trim and some interior bits,
and incremental updates in appliances or axles/running gear and electronics.
and
some of those parts have issues, like the fridge recall from that year (covered in many threads)

but if you "love it" then a 5 year old unit is just as good a place to start as any year,
with the features of nearly new, but without the new sticker price.
and a previous owner may have solved most the the fit/finish bugs already.

as a new rv'er and new streamer it is easy to get sucked into the silver vortex and the
ccd look will sure do that...
and u will notice in the 3rd linked thread how the soon2be buyer totally switched models/styles...

so to counter this almost irresistible force, step back 3 paces put on some anti reflector goggles and...
-imagine in some detail HOW u will use the trayla
-make a list of your MUST haves in an rv
-think about storage issues, water capacity, power needs and so on...
-ask the KIDS and mate what they WANT/NEED in an rv (they might want very different things than you)
-try on as many rvs as humanly possible, streams or other brands (get inside them and fiddle)
-sort out the financials and towing requirements
-((maybe u really need a class C or moho??))
WE don't know the answers to any of the above for YOU.
but an 04 is an 04 and not a lot different than an 02 or 09 (including the goodnbad stuff)
have fun and happy streaming...
cheers
