1978 Sovereign Land Yacht Jalopy
Hi all,
I'm new to community and have a question to ask to all of you who've bought, sold, repaired/refurbished ASs.
I have an opportunity to buy a 1978 Sovereign. It's completely destroyed on the inside and has most of the flooring missing. frame is rusted but doesn't seem compromised. Will need holding tanks, bathroom, flooring the whole lot. Is $900 a good price?

Is there anything good about it besides a 78 Sovereign.
Is it towable at least, how much will it cost you to get it home, are you going to do the work or pay someone.
If they want $900. Will they take $500.

There are lots of 70's Sovereigns out there. Most at very reasonable prices below what it would cost you to buy the parts to buy to put this one back on the road. Not to mention the time and labor costs that you will spend.

What does the shell look like?
All the other stuff is incidental in my view...
If the shell is respectable, I would make an offer.

The most important things are frame from ball to rear bumper, shell inside and out, wiring and subfloor. Even if these are all intact and need little work. The fact that you can see the frame hints that the subfloor and belly pan are not completely intact assuming you aren't talking about the A frame. In my humble opinion, I wouldn't offer more than what I could get at a metal scrap yard if I took it apart.

Yep, starting with nothing inside CAN be a good thing sometimes.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.
Pure fun! (I am serious about that)
