No kidding - what a shame - I take back what I said about the rebuild - once you start having to fabricate ribs, it gets a lot lot more difficult.

There might be a few parts that can be sold - but its bascially scrap metal now - BUMMER!

Yeah, I understand that it is basically scrap to some, an exciting project to others. At scrap value, I can cut it all apart and get about $600 for the aluminum... my "asking" price is $1800 or best offer...

I'd hate to see it cut up for aluminum. It needs a lot of work, but those old trailers are pretty rare now. It still has the potential to be a showpiece someday, but it's a LOT of work and $$$ away from there right now. I hope you get lucky and find someone who wants to take it on.

...there is about $500 in parts and about $200 in aluminum there. Sorry but, I know this first hand. Not included in those values is the 15 hours to remove those parts or the 20 hours to cut the aluminum up and clean out the foreign materials that will devalue the price paid for the scrap metal. Let's be a little bit realist here could we. The potential to be a show piece is so slight I think it somewhat disingenuous to call it that. All trailers unfortunately are not worth a mint nor are they all cannot be saved..

HAving done some aluminum aircraft body work I would suggest several to many jacks inside with boards ( 2x4) on the jack to the damaged roof. See how it goes. then remove interior metal and re-form / replace the damaged ribs. Could form the replacement ribs from plywood as done on many protypes. The exterior skin could be just covered over with new aluminum and properly riveted in place. May not be airworthy but could be road worthy and water tight. Or on the lighter side how about a large sun roof / skylight....Good Luck. 1,800 = NO WAY

I can't wait to see what the buyer is able to do with the rebuild...

Hi. Sorry all for the delay in posting. The trailer was sold locally in Northern Mi for approx $1200 to a private party that was planning on storing it in a barn for future restoration.
