19' Bambi International/CCDs 2006-7-8

Newbie looking around...

As Perry mentioned in another thread, it seems like prices have gone up from NADA by about $5-10k. It seems like most of the 19' Bambis with a pano window are at around $30-35k at the moment, even though NADA shows something like $23-26k value. Do you think the asking prices will fall as we move into winter? Or is this where the prices just are this winter season?

Gosh, this forum rocks. Sorry for all the newbie clueless questions...

Zina

They rarely go anywhere NADA unless the owner doesn't know better and most do. Bambi's are an easy sell due to there size and can be towed with a smaller tow vehicle. Keep looking and make offers but if someone needs to sell they will come down on price faster in the winter. Good luck, we love our 06 Bambi CCD but not selling anytime soon.

We agree with Brad that NADA is not a true value basis for Bambis ... or Airstreams in general, for that matter. Their numbers just are not reality.

Is there a better place to check values? Or is it just "look around and figure out what they're going for at any given time"? (She said, looking both hopeful and forlorn at the same time...)

Yeah, unfortunatetly, looking at the actual market values is the best way to go about it, though more work and more frustrating. Remember, though, that just because someone is ASKing a certain dollar amount doesn't mean they will GET that amount.

Okay, thanks - it makes it harder when people remove the price they sold it for after they've sold it...and there's not that many on ebay that I can find...

Hi, due to our weather, or lack of, you might find a better Bambi in California; But since we don't really have a winter, don't expect the price to drop around here. Most of us don't winterize our trailers and we can use them all year long.

As a side note: Copy as many advertisements or other information as possible for purposes of insurance; both for coverage and for claims. In fact, this is the time to look at professional appraisals (who, how much), and for as much information about insurance company, policy type (stated, etc), and stories of wrecks being rebuilt. Laminate it and bind it all. Etc.

Same for, IMO, what makes for best hitch rigging: VPP hitch, trailer disc brakes, Maxbrake controller, TPMS, LT trailer tires, etc. Whatever you find that CAN AM recommends (and improve it).

Good idea, I've already started gathering insurance quotes. Hitch rigging is harder, everyone has such different ideas of the perfect rig.

I used Blue Sky insurance and they are very reasonable and handled my hail claim without a fuss.
