What's you best guess on new AS mark-up?
Okay, it's a bit of a game, I'm really curious to what streamers are thinking on this... I'm guessing there's a 60% increase from what the dealer pays to MSRP... what do you all think?

Wow, I'm suprised!!! My experience with furniture is that mark-up is in the 65% range, I thought an RV would be similiar. especially when you see how much more AS costs compared to other RVs out there!

I wonder if there may be a difference between Canadian dealers and US dealers. I know the CDN dollar plays a huge part on the price.

That about right, 28% was what I got off of MSRP from a dealer going out of business.

Remember this is a matter of affordability...
The more expensive the item, especially if it is a common item...house, car, etc.
They already cost alot and to be affordable to the common person they have lower margins or they would cost even more. Example: 20% on a candy bar is 20 cents, 20% on a 30k RV is 6k. Same percentage, more dollars on the RV because it has more base value.
So, a small margin on a big ticket is the best way to make lots of money efficiently. One build, one sale, 6K on the RV. How many candybars to do 6K? See what I mean? 30,000 candy bars to make the same amount of money...
Build and sell RVs.

How many children in North America buy a candy bar each day? How many people buy an Airstream each day? I think, I'd make candy bars.

If you made just candy bars, you would eliminate the need to balance the running gear, etc.

If you made candy bars, you would run to Mexico to lower production costs, of course you would have written in spanish and we wouldn't understand you. Nice to be able to buy an American product.

You guys are way off. The margin on most grocery goods like candy bars is closer to 28%.
Same as an Airstream.

It's about 150% for fireworks. Think about that while you are loading up on sparklers for that New Year's celebration.
