Used 2019 Classic 33 FB to buy

I'm asking for suggestions for a reasonable price I should consider paying for a used, 2019 Classic 33 FB w/solar? The asking price quoted is $119,995 which I consider on the high side given it is preowned and going into fall/winter. I was thinking low to mid 90's to be more reasonable myself but I'm looking for suggestions. Currently own '16 FC 27 FB. Thanks!

A ‘19 isn’t terribly old (it’s still 2019 now [emoji3]).

My non-expert advice would be:

1) start with the sticker
2) discount 20% as that’s likely what was paid
3) discount fairly for use/damage - presuming no damage, was it used a few weekends or lived in full time since purchase - maybe the range would be 5-15% off the 20% sticker discount.

If that number is in the $120K range I’m going to say it’s fair. If it’s in the $90K range, that’s all I’d be willing to pay.

Be sure to buy the remainder of the warranty from the factory.

Good luck!

Thank you, I was kind of spitballing the 20% off the new msrp they showed and was factoring about another 15-20% off their list price knowing they'd sure to lowball me on trade. I'd try to sell mine outright if we ever get that far. Thank you for your advice!

Private sale or retail? A popular dealer has a 2018 listed for $99.9, which would make your 2019 price within reason, broken in and all accessories.

Hi

"Trade" implies this is a dealer / retail sale. In that case the only thing that matters is the delta between the trade and the new trailer. As you point out, both are elastic numbers. Push on one and the other moves a bit. You simply will drive yourself crazy doing it that way.

Indeed there (likely) are sales tax reasons to do a trade. Equally, the dealer makes a profit or they go out of business. It's a good bet than their profit on the entire transaction is more than you save on the sales tax.

Selling the trailer you have and then doing a cash deal is the only way to *really* know what's what.

Thanks to all who replied. I very much appreciate the fact everyone took time out if their life to reply. It is now a moot point as it sold yesterday.

Hey Hyo Slvr - I started with a 2018 25' International Serenity and upgraded (right off the lot) to a 2019 33' Classic FB. Except for the price I paid compared to what you are looking at, I couldn't be happier. We had 55 camping nights this year in our 2019 and now that it is slightly used, it is well worth what they are asking for it. My two cents... Good luck!

Hi

Apparently the annual "flush out the old ones" sale is now on. That kicks in another 5% or so to the discount on a new 2019 model that is still on a dealer's lot. The 33' is a rare item, still there might be one out there if you are still interested.

Even though this particular one already sold, it is important to note for the future:
Transferring the factory warranty ONLY transfers the warranty on the trailer itself, NOT any other components. Those are warranted to the original purchaser only, with no transfer of warranty possible.

Extended warranty

I’m picking up my new GT in about two weeks. Should I buy an extended warranty?
Thanks

personally, I never buy extended warranties. There are so many exclusions built into them that it is almost impossible to get anything covered.

Your factory warranty is three years. Camp a lot, get everything dialed in and save the money.

And my extended warranty advice is different, if you know you’ll keep the trailer a good extended warranty can more than pay for itself. It really depends on your risk tolerance. If you’re not sure you’ll keep the trailer I’d pass.
