Tow Vehicle Security (Revelco)

Wow, 2 days ago we noticed that our F350 driver's door lock was punched.

We really don't know when it happened in that we just made a short jaunt to Louisiana while our trailer was in Texas. We stayed a 2 hotels and security seemed appropriate, and noticed it when we got back.

We are full timers and it would be a great loss to have our TV missing for any amount of time, Much less stolen.. We know that this is a favorite type of vehicle for theft, but it works for us.

Has anyone had a Revelco system installed on their TV? If so, how much did you pay? The web site does list a price, but just wondering if a discount is available.

Have you contacted the company to discuss possible discounts, Military, AARP, AAA, etc?

Ford truck locks are known to be weak and a big target for the "lock punch" criminals. Happened to my expedition when parked at a hospital...

As a known weak point criminals will go for it, if it pops easy they are in. So first step is to prevent that!

Here is one option:

https://www.amazon.com/Jimmi-Jammer-.../dp/B008D7PNVS

Deal with the opportunistic idiots first, make them move on to an easier target! Immobilization only becomes a deterrent once they are in your vehicle..

Hope this helps

Thanks GSMblue,

I saw the Jimmi-jammer line of products. Looks like 1 solution for sure. Door, tailgate and hood products are available.

Went to a truck aftermarket place and got a quote for a Viper 5706 alarm. WOW $$$ We really don't want a alarm to notify us, but to prevent it from being stolen.

The guy wasn't familiar with the Revelco.

I'll keep searching. We are good for now since we are in a small RV Park and it is gated.

Awchief,

Not yet and I was not in the military. Nor AARP, AAA, etc.... but yes, Good Sam, Escapees...

I can always call and discuss though. And the fact that my insurance may go down as stated on their site.

Thanks
