BSalinger,
I too have a trailer for sale, and have received the EXACT SAME e-mails. To the first one, I replied, "Call me, the number is in the add", but no call.
I believe they not only don't want to buy the Airstream, but only want all the requested information to aid in identity theft. We live in a very dangerous world.

I wish now that I hadn't even returned the e-mail, because now he has my e-mail address, and from that he can gain lots of personal information. If you don't believe it, Google your e-mail address.

Everyone should have a few "throw-away" email addresses to use in this kind of situation. Most Internet Service Providers permit an account holder to have 5-10 email addresses active at a time. Never use your real primary email address for anything other than really trusted correspondents, and even the primary address should be changed every year or two, because you cannot trust how careful others are with their Internet security, and your email address.
What a world!

google both the email address, and the name in double quotes. You're the only presence of that name on the entire Internet.
scam!

If you don't believe it just deposit a check in your bank and forget to turn it in at the end of the year, the IRS will send a letter telling you of your mistake pronto..every one is watching you....

Thanks to all for the replies
Thanks, folks, for replies to my post.
It sure seemed like it wasn't on the up and up.
I replied insisting that payment be via International Wire Transfer.
That needed it......

Why even reply, and invite further engagement, more correspondence, and possible discovery of your IP address? You just egg spammers on this way . . . and he or she will consider you "hooked' until you go dark/silent.
Think of shifting to a state of war?
PS -- You might consider reporting this to the classified department, as they may be able to block a spammer by his/her IP address.

DO NOT DO THAT! Because that requires that you give him your account number, which they would LOVE to have.

Exactly. As a banker, we frequently see these scams. In the case of this crook it is likely he was going to send a bogus certified check in an amount in excess of the sales price with request that you deposit it and then wire back the difference for taxes, shipping or some other purpose. Of course, the check will be no good, but that wouldn't be known until after good funds are wired back to him. Despite the broken English in the letter, these criminals are slick so best not to mess around with them.

I never respond to scammers, instead I take their email address and sign them for free info up on websites like Hair Club for Men, Viagra, and penis enlargement services. I've been doing this for more than 20 years, it used to be better when it was all junk mail.

There used to be a website where you fed into an email address and it subscribed that address to over 200 different foreign language Star Wars and Star Trek fan email lists. The best part is the list footers at the bottom on how to unsubscribe were always in the native language of the list.

I also received the exact same inquiry. I didn't respond to it, heeding RVTrader's warning:
"**IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FOR IDENTIFYING EMAIL FRAUD*** Be aware of fraudulent emails! Misspellings, inconsistent grammar and urgent notifications or requests are common indicators that you may have received a fraudulent email. "
