Sell Now?

Yep, put her on the market pronto!

We just sold our 2107 International 23D that we purchased new in May, 2017. We advertised it on Airstream Classifieds (payed for "Featured" ad but had no calls in the 3 1/2 weeks it was on site) and RV Trader (payed for "Premium" ad and had 7 responses in the 2 1/2 weeks it was on site). First responder purchased and just picked it up last Saturday, May 11. She drove from Virginia to Hendersonville, NC. We had 3 backup offers just in case something went wrong. Cash buyer the brought bank check (we authenticated check with Wells Fargo before handing over title).

We sold for just $3000.00 less than we paid for her. Airstreams hold there value. Purchaser knows that she bought a well loved and perfect condition Airstream that will serve her for may years. Or she can sell it in a couple of years and not loose a ton of money.

We moved up to a 2019 FC 25 RB Twin. So far, so good. Get it on RV Trader today! Best of luck to you!

I don't know about Airstream Classifieds -- filled the "Contact Seller" form out twice on a trailer I was interested in with no response from the seller. The ad is still up so the question is: did the seller get my inquiry. Judging by post #14, maybe not...

Thanks!

Still flipping coins as it were... I mean we bought it for an adventure and while the time not right IF adventure is ever in the cards it would cost again...

We bought new because the used we looked at needed more effort than we could put in to get road worthy and those that did were not a lot less than new! Research proved despite good construction skills it's a different kind of beast that requires "special knowledge" and time... Friends bought a used one and it looks like a nightmare 10 year project and even then.... While they won't spend $100,000 (they got some cool classic that new would be more than that) they will spend a lot and take years to get right if they continue on their own... We don't want to do that! We want to be on the road. had enough construction experience in my 20's...

So.. OK Sell now... but... Again if we want to try again we'd either have to take a plunge on used (longer transferrable warranties on new models help) or if new take yet another loss off the top with taxes etc...

I mean it feels like make this work or forget it for a long time...

We discussed moving to a rental we could store it at and save ~$75 a month and frankly even $475 doesn't hurt too bad...

But as we suspected NOW late spring best time to sell...

Thanks,

Walstib...

Must have taken you quite some time to compose that brilliant bit of advice!

Whoa, padnuh....why so snarky?

Did anyone rag on Julius Caesar when he proclaimed, “veni vidi vici”?

I think GMFL’s brief summary is brilliant! True, concise, Caesaresque...

Good luck with whatever you ultimately decide to do because....well, what GMFL said

Agree, sell now and post on airstreamclassifieds.com. We found our current rig there. For that size trailer, if you got a proper discount at the time of your purchase, and with the price of new going up, you should not lose any $$$. We actually sold our 2008 19' Bambi for more than we paid.

OK...

Never mind...

Ya know I lurked here for quite some time and didn't post because I noticed a LOT of the same posters with wise acre non productive snipes/posts.

I figured maybe a some good advice on a difficult decision would not be met with much of that.... but I was wrong.

Lots of good information here but over all many of you need a hobby instead of pontificating your brilliance to us poor masses ala Caeser....

Too bad one has to wade through so much of it to find the gold nuggets.

I'm gone...I'm sure this will bring out more of the same but I'll never know.

Thank you to those who took the time to give thoughtful responses but I'm not going to get into a back in forth with a nepotistic in crowd.

Yea.. won't let the door etc....

Not sure your getting it? Many folks here are answering your questions, but your focusing on the "tone" of a comment or two; not sure why you would get all "worked up" when many of us took the time to share our experience and advice anyway; and why start throwing out insults and words like "nepotistic" ?? Lurking is not good either...brings to mind "troll", and we all know those dudes drive us nuts.

Hope you got the information you were looking for; now you just need to apply it... or not. Ether way, hope you move on to your next big adventure.

Wow? I’m sorry I offended you. It was not my intent. I was “simple” letting you know that we all have opinions on what is BEST, but it is your choice as to what is best for you and yours.
I just noticed that you seemed on the fence about what to do and I wanted to reassure you that the choice was yours and to not be pushed to make a choice.
Empowering you was my objective not pissing you off.

No one wants to do that here.
I feel that if you decide to continue on the Airforum you should research people’s past post before you jump to conclusions.

I feel bad for the guy. I thought your response was doing exactly what you describe here - encouraging him, empowering him....I don’t know how he read that differently or why he sniped at you....he got some great advice on his question....

Oh well.....
