setting price for trailer up for sale

I have a 34' Airstream Classic, 1995, that I plan to sell. It is in excellent condition here in a mid Florida RV park. Several have inquired about the asking price. Not having been active in Airstream circles for several years, I have no idea of its value. Would appreciate learning realistic price ranges.

Well, a quick perusal of our classifieds seems to indicate that a price between high 20's to high 30's, depending on condition and upgrades, seems to be in order. New appliances, flooring, curtains, fixtures and the like at the high end and original but functional and no damage at the low end.

Of course, "asking" and "getting" are two different things.

The older and the bigger the AS the lower the price as they have a smaller market.

Now in the right market a perfect restored/updated/redesigned by professionals large AS will bring more bucks.

Do your research and be honest to yourself about the condition of your AS.

I have to add here that the 34' triple-axle trailers have a special following, and it doesn't seem that the bigger=cheaper pricing rule of thumb you mention applies as much to them as it does to the 29'-32' tandem-axle trailers. Now, you'll definitely pay more per foot for a cute little used Bambi but at a comparable level of age and quantity, a 34' trailer seems to go for more than a 30-footer.

Don, don't set your price too low--as I key this in, there are 46 people reading your thread, indicating a lot of interest IMHO. The 34' are special, not in production for a while (past and future), and as noted above seem to have a special following.

We are among those following--we love our biggie and find it the most comfortable of our "fleet" of A/Ss.

You can always lower your price and bargain, but it's kinda hard to raise it if you set it too low.

Our 86 Limited 34' was appraised at $22k for insurance purposes about 3 years ago. We have made improvements since then including 16" wheels and LT tires. It makes for very comfortable traveling. It all depends on condition. But $38k would not be out of line for a nice 95 34 footer.

Condition, condition, condition. If you are going to get top dollar for your trailer it has to be super clean and in top condition. Money spent shampooing and detailing is well spent. If the carpet is warn out and dirty consider composite flooring. If the clear coat is gone, consider polishing.
While saying nothing about your trailer, most old trailers I walk into are worn out, dirty and smell bad and I walk right back out of them.
