Holland Motorhomes in San Diego, CA. will soon be the area's new Airstream Dealer and service center.
A few days ago while driving past the Holland MHs just off the 52 Freeway, I noticed two A/S trailers on the lot and wondered if they were possibly the new dealer in town. I called them and yes, they have a few units on the lot and are getting a dozen or more next week.
They are expecting A/S reps and staff in the next few weeks for indoc and training. Their service department too will be set-up in the next few weeks. I wish them well and hope to visit soon.
I mentioned the Award A/S just recieved from Woodals Camping World might help sell a few units and welcomed them to the A/S community.
Anyway, if you are shopping for one, need yours serviced or want to stop by and vist. They should be up and running in a few weeks. Just FYI

No SD A/S Dealer/Service.
Deal is Off... Spoke to Holland service today. The deal with A/S fell through. Holland M/Hs will not be an Airstream Service center. San Diego is again A/S dealer-less. They do have a few trailers on the lot so maybe a deal can be had.
Looks like we're gonna go talk to folks to the North, Inland, Southwest, California RV or C&G for service and repairs. FYI and Stream Safe!

Go to www.Airstream.com and search "Find a Dealer". Then search by State. The list is constantly updated.
Those that have been around a long time like C&G, Inland, Toscano and Southwest will make it through. It is not the first time that the economy has affected the RV industry.
I have been around Airstream all my life. I have traveled, worked with and followed the ups and downs within the Airstream Story.
In addition to working at Airstream, I have worked with Fleetwood, Kit Manufacturing, and Executive Motor Homes.
Airstream and Thor are still on going in the industry.
Fleetwood has lost its paramount position and is struggling. They did so due to changing the structure of their company and the influx of the wrong executives to run their corporation.
Kit Manufacturing just couldn't hang in there with the big boys.
Executive Industries failed due to mis-management, but has been reborn as a product line for Monaco.
I have seen production stop, slow down, sky-rocket, and operate as normal. This is the history of the RV Industry.
In standing back and looking in, since that is where I am and where most of the Airformers are, I see the same tough times. I have seen them before. We will see them again.
Thor Industries has followed a path that has not only been successful, but it has been sustaining. As hard as they have been hit by the ecomony, they may be the best of the best in surving these financial times. Thor is cautious.
To say things are scary, well that is a little spooky. We need to understand that our economy is down, it isn't going to change for a sustained period, but the strong Corporations, such as Thor, will survive.
Airstream has been through very tough times. I will be writing about this in the near future and posting it.
