New Modern style Camper Coming to Town

I do not know if you saw the news about the European RV company coming to the states but they are finalizing a deal to sell their modern style interior campers here.

HYMER :: Caravan and Motorhomes manufacturers - HYMER.com - EN

Airstream will always be unique from its inside and outside style. One area though that Airstream seems to have a stronghold on is interior styling, or rather did have. This new camper has the modern styling que even if the outside appearance looks similar to any box trailer. I like a clean interior like Airstream and this Hymer trailer line have. It will be interesting to see how much they cost. Note how the "luxo" model looks an awful lot like the Airstream Yacht concept inside.

Personally, I wouldn't be worried. While they are nice, they are aren't ground-shakingly different that those which are made right at home in the USA.

isnt the eriba a vintage german trailer? Is this the same company? Beautiful interiors but still a SOB on the exterior IMHO.

It will be a niche market. Most Americans want bigger, larger, fancier at a cheap price. My local RV dealer won't stock the smaller more expensive units, they don't sell around here.

These definitely caught my eye the day we purchased our Airstream from Bates RV. Not enough to turn my head for to long away from our beautiful iconic new baby
They are extremely nice on the inside. Nothing like I had seen before in most modern RV's.
I would have been very interested if I didn't love Airstreams.

These German trailers have very innovative interior features. They have a few things that I wouldn't mind seeing in an Airstream. The exteriors are pretty ho-hum.

The exteriors are quite unappealing. The interiors look nice, but I dont care for the layouts so much. I like to see a couch/bench to go with the dinette. One thing they appear to have going for them is a low GVWR. A 26-footer looks to be 4k lbs.
