NADA Guide hard copy v. online?

I'm in the process of negotiating with the local Airstream dealer over the value of out 2012 Eddie Bauer 25'. It's in excellent condition and I'm operating off of the NADA online guide which shows that it has an average retail value of around $58,000. The dealer tells me that the hard copy of the NADA guides has additional information and that it indicates the value to be around $41,000. He tells me this is the version the bank uses.

What gives? Anyone has access to the hard copy NADA guide and can tell me the value it claims for my trailer? If so, can you scan that page and post it for me?Where's the difference coming from here?

I didn't give NADA a second thought when I was selling my airstream.
One dealer offered me $32k for a 2011 23 fb International and told me the Nada value was $40k. I then had another dealer offer $41,500 (above Nada), but I sold it privately even higher. It sold in 2 days and I had 4 backup offers. A dealer might use NADA to justify an offer, but they want to re-sell it for a profit (which is understandable). It's like selling a car..... Trading is easy/convenient but you will always do better to sell privately.

Any tips for selling it myself? I've never sold a trailer and the notion makes me a little leery.

I would think an EB would be easy to sell. I only placed an ad on Airforums, and like I said it was sold in two days. I do think some folks will pay a dealer to handle the sale, but we were able to verify our buyer was legit and had no concerns. I also researched airforums classifieds to help me determine the market price for my 23fb.

I sold our 08 19 Ocean Breeze privately. I scanned asking prices on RV Trader and Here in the Classifieds to get an idea of what to ask for yours. You may not find too many EB units out there but there should be some for sale. If they buy out right, easy deal go to AAA and they will take care of the title change. If your buyer finances, it too should be easy, bank will pay yours off if that applies, and give you a check for the difference or the whole amount.
You'll do fine. Perfect time of the year!

Thanks all.. I've posted it on the classifieds here. NADA lists Average Retail at $58,000 and I've listed it at $55,000 with the Pro Pride thrown in. Hopefully we get some interest.

Last year I sold my Limited through a Forum Classified ad. Couldn't have gone better. I priced it a little low because it had a few minor problems that I didn't have the energy to repair. I delivered it to the new owner in Estes Park, CO and he paid my full asking price plus my expenses to deliver. I did a bit of research on him before doing the delivery and was pretty satisfied that everything was legit, but I asked for a wire transfer of the price before signing the title over. This proved to be unnecessary as he was solid, but I guess better safe than sorry.

Sold our 28' in 3 days on Airforums classifieds and got a good price for it, way above dealer offers. They came across country to get it and they were thrilled. It was a very nice trailer.

Prices listed in NADA are average prices for actual dealer sales (or dealer purchases in the case of trade-in). Since private sellers are not part of the National Automotive Dealers Association, no information on private sales is factored into the NADA guide prices.

Oh I know that but I needed something on which to base my price and I've not found any other trailers like this for sale to compare with. Do you think I've asked too much? Too little?

Too much, too little, hard to say. Last month I sold my 2007 23' Safari SE LS on Airstream Classifieds for $9,000 more than the NADA book, but then I had some upgrades and threw in the Equal-I-zer hitch. Based on what I was seeing advertised on the Internet, I think this was a fair price from my (seller) and my buyer's perspective. NADA book usually undervalues Airstreams. I think they just apply the same formula they use for all travel trailers to Airstreams without considering the greater demand for used Airstreams.
