Is this deal for real?

Sorry...new poster...reasonably long-time lurker. I was waiting to get in on an airstream then I found this deal:

$10K for an '08 safari? Based on the pictures is looks like a 20+footer. Am I missing something here? I've emailed the seller ASAP in hopes he doesn't realize how valuable this item is so I can snap it up. Unless of course a knowledgeable poster on here would like to point out something I am missing!!!!

scam I'd say, the list seems pretty typical of the scams, points out really normal details. Most the scams seem to undercut the prices a lot, but usually more like 5800 for a brand new one. I'd stay away, too good to be true.

That deal looks pretty fishy to me. Most definitely a scam.

The seller has failed to state the size of the trailer.

Ask for the VIN, and see what happens.

I am surprised there is no mention of the length.....that is usually the first thing that is listed....something is off here.....ask to inspect it.....at least they are not offering free delivery and your money back if you don't accept it....pj

Thanks Guys...it's a local kijiji listing and I've just emailed to ask for a viewing. If it's a scam I guess I'll never hear back. If it's just a person who isn't aware of an airstream's true value somehow/someway, then I'm all over this. My wife and I had two twin girls last year so any chance to save some pennies is very welcome!!!

Note in the picture of the stove that the front protective wrapper is only partially removed, i.e. the stove's oven has never been used, note tag on knob as well.

The pics in the ads look like they've been hijacked from a dealer's website.

If you get any emails stating that "the trailer is in a container ready to be shipped" - in other words, any excuse that prohibits you from physically viewing the trailer before you part with your hard earned $$$$, then run, don't walk, to the nearest exit.

You may also do a general search on craigslist or other kijiji sites for the same ad.

Even though the economy isn't what it used to be, a 2008 AS for $10K is more than likely a scam.

Keep on looking - there are legit deals out there - you can pick up an older AS for $10K or less.

I've been flagging them for removal. they have a flag system similar to Craigslist. Just click "report ad", and click "Fraud/Scam", and it will get removed.

So far, this $10K 2008 Safari ad has made the round in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto (seemed to skip the prairies) & Montreal:

Problem is the guy forgot to translate this ad for the local Montreal folks, although some of the pics are different.

As Kijiji admonishes "Avoid fraud by meeting all sellers in-person to pay for items."
