I am going to look at a 2014 Airstream 16 Sport for purchase in San Rafael. This Airstream has been stored with a consignment company in San Francisco that handles rentals in a large fleet and is rented out on and off for about 1/5th of the year. I am new to AS purchasing. Since the AS has been rented out by many folks, what are some things I should look for? I've been told the AS is in excellent condition as the rental company takes excellent care and maintenance of the trailers. There is also the potential to leave it with the rental company when not in use and they will send me a check every month (the trailers are outfitted with GPS tracking). They handle all repairs, maintenance, storage, and insurance.
The asking price is 26K and I think this is a fair price if the condition is good, but I would love to hear others' thoughts. The price seems low for the Bay Area as it seems I would need to drive to Arizona or Texas to get out of California prices. Any thoughts appreciated.
