Excella Values

My wife and I are searching for an Airstream. The later Excellas seem like a good value, low $20s for about 30’. I’m looking for something pretty much turnkey though I would budget for tires and other routine maintenance. I have some uninformed speculation about the prices but I’d like to hear from you. Are Excellas a great value or do they have issues and deferred maintenance and a bunch of costs that I’m not factoring?

The weak spot in all Airstreams is the floor. That is what can get a person in trouble, however, extensive repairs can be defrayed if a person is capable of DIY.

There is one poster on here who bought a trailer with a crazy rusted frame, but it came from FL, I think maybe a prior hurricane storm surge washed it with salt water.

Still in the market? I'm getting ready to post for sale a 1994 '29 Excella, rear twin beds, which we parked under a pole barn and have used as a guest quarters for the past 4 years. The previous owner, and us (3rd owner?) never towed it. We're in NM. It's in good/average condition. Everything works. We installed an Incinolet toilet. Feel free to contact me ....bwehrli@unm.edu
