Since this keeps happening...and he , she , it keeps getting shut down I now think this is more of a practical joker than a scammer. What I find truly amazing is ebay's lack of checking this out. Is this lack of team work over at ebay central. You know the old saying "screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice, shame on me". Ebay should be previewing all ads with keyword airstream after the 2nd offense. Never mind...it is entertaining and gives me something to look for while I'm listing in my ebay store.
I wonder if GT's going to end up with slide out triplets. Someone needs to proxy bid on that fourth one for him so they don't get split between families!
The last time I looked you only needed to raise by a nickel!

If you're reading this, the way to prove you have found us is to list 7 identical "2002 34' Airstream trailer w/slideout & washer L@@K!" items from Australia.
Wow that was amazing, I refreshed and there were only two. A minute later, they were all gone. I can't imagine why a scammer that's run a phish to get an account name would waste it on an auction he knows is going to get pulled. Unless they have so many phished accounts they're just waiting to use it doesn't matter. I thought they were re-listing to get smarter, but they're looking pretty dumb.
I don't think they're practical jokers though. If you go to that ebola monkey man site (this thread, back somewhere) you'll see these guys are dumb as rocks yet keep putting the time in. I guess one scam at $5K goes a long way in the paycheck department over there...

I just got an email through Ebay from the (hopefully) real person. He is the one that cancelled the auctions, and has (again hope4fully) changed his account info.
Chalk up another win for the Good Guys...
I got the same message, it looks sincere enough but I'm not going to write him back for a day or two. Ebay will have made him change his account info if it is him...
"Hi,
Could you please retract your bid on this trailer, as it is a hoax. A hacker has got into my account and has put 4 of the same trailers up for auction.
I have informed ebay of this hoax, so hopefully they will deal with this problem as soon as possible. I hope I haven't caused you any inconvenience.
Thanks...Rika"

I already advised him to change at least his password, if nothing else. The email I got from him sounded, well, shocked.
Does anybody know how they steal your ID? I'm curious to know if the real ebay person had answered any phishing mail. I get them occasionally they look like email from ebay or paypal but I just forward them to security and change my password. If you did follow the link and sign in as usual they would have everything they need to access your account.
Does anyone know what kind of payment the scammer wanted?

Thanks GT. I guess he would then supply them with a link to square trade. I'll bet he's got some other great deals listed too...maybe a 2005 harley for $500. It has to be a numbers game.

When we were looking, I bid on one that seemed too good to be true. Never lost a cent and learned quite a bit.

For the payment i would like to use eBay Square Trade as a third party . They will keep your money until you get the trailer and will release it to me upon delivery .
Here are my name and address you need for the payment in case you decide to buy the trailer .

Does this appear to be the same guy who is running the current scams?
If you Google that address you will see that it is the address of what appears to be a legitimate electronics company in London.
If the scammer really wants payment sent there, he must be an employee or affiliate of that company and could be tracked down, but this seems too obvious. It would be great if someone could nail this crook.
