It seems odd cause you get paid for selling your item right into your pay pal account. The customer pays ,you ship it out!!

The daily rate for a hospital room in Nigera is much cheaper then here, or do they have national health insurance?

I got talked out of my wonderful 93 excella and now I am looking for another. Would like a 30' young 2002-2005 trailer. If anyone knows of one, please pass it on to me. I would hate to go to rally in May without a trailer.

Too bad ebay can't / won't go after these people. I sent them a notice so they can pull the listing.

You know it has to be the same person(s) since they follow such a similar format. I think the folks on the forum have done a great job keeping this stuff off of ebay. A tip of my cap (if I was wearing one) to you all. Maybe if we all keep at this, the scammers will finally realize that its futile to list Airstreams like this.

It's more complicated than "just going after them."
with computer scammers, just like drug dealers, there are the shadowy kingpins & then there are the poorly paid Nigerian hackers in cybercafes generating the "leads." they're mobile & they aren't known to be pacifists.

it would be like eBay taking on the Mafia.

I don't think it's the same person.

I think they answer an ad in the back of "Nigerian Mechanics" for how to make 500$ a week stuffing envelopes, except instead of stuffing envelopes or buying real estate, they get a little booklet that tells them how to phish for greedy american bank account numbers.

I think they all work off the same template, which we all know is a pretty sucky come-on.

But people have died going to Lagos, trying to recoup their losses.

Thanks to you guys for posting these, but I don't think we can stop them from popping up. It's like junk mail.

Now this one is a cool/interesting listing:

In reality though...seems like a waste of a perfectly good Airstream.
Did you happen to notice the section at the bottom of the auction that shows "other items for sale from this seller"?

How about a nice horse trailer with live-in quarters, or a nice big bass boat. There is even a different email address shown for those items than for the Airstream. I wonder how many different Ebay and Paypal accounts that guy has. It must be a full time job.

he's got mail

well, I emailed the gent selling the '05 classic on today's ebay- actually, both the poor guy whose site had been hacked, and the perp. He says he's in London, the '05 is in a warehouse in the states, got it from his father in law!! That's a good one. Says the first one to send him $2,900 to an address in London gets the trailer, shipped to your door. His email is mrseeker0316@verizonmail.com for any of you looking for a little fun with a new pen-pal. See ebolamonkeyman.com for ideas...

Exclamation Another one

I inquired about a horse trailer and this is the reply I got

From: "- -" <farmerwgb@hotmail.com>

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in purchasing my trailer.First I want to tell
you that I am in Netherlands and the trailer is stored at ebay's warehouse
in US; the trailer will be shipped from there on my expense.
The trailer is like new,in perfect condition with no damage. I have this
trailer from my father-in-law and I'm selling it because the shipping to
Netherlands will cost me too much.I'm the second owner after my father-in
-law.
It has a clear title and you'll receive it along with all the documentation
you'll need for the registration.After inspection,the ebay's experts agreed
to hold and ship the trailer to the new owner. This way, both sides (seller
and buyer) are insured by ebay.
The trailer will be shipped from the ebay Warehouse on my expense,as soon as
the payment is confirmed. The price for this trailer is $5900 USD.
Regards

There are eBay warehouses in every major city. They are unmarked and inconspicuous. By law they must be open to the public on one day each year. These special dates are announced to Superpremium eBay users.

All are located near major airports. They are connected by a fiberoptic communication network that once belonged to the Department of Defense.

All land transport in and out is handled by a special fleet of trucks disguised with WalMart logos. Perhaps you have seen some of these trucks on the highway.

Employees must pass a special security screening, and all have military experience. These are the people who do the physical inspection and bonding of your merchandise. All employees are paid a minimum of $125K per year, with 401(k) and stock options. Health insurance is provided free of charge to the employee and his spouse/domestic partner.

I used to run a floorsweeper in one of the warehouses, but that job has been outsourced to a young man from Nepal. He flies in every night on one of the transport planes that circle the globe continuously, refueled by a fleet of tankers that is leased from the Canadian Airforce. These planes are piloted by rotating crews of pilots that live on the planes for up to 60 days at a time.

I hope I have allayed your concerns about your impending eBay transaction. Don't worry about a thing, we are here to help make your eBay experience stress free and joyousful.
