Well I was too late to check out the listings - they have all been pulled.

I have attempted to string along several of these sellers. After awhile when you don't act "urgently" they stop writing. I was looking for a Garmin GPS 396, an aviation unit for an airplane. They run $2500, and I found some on ebay for $895. Of course, western union was the only payment accepted!

I wrote him & said that was a great price, and could he sell me 5 for $5000 cash for me to resale in my store. He wrote back very excited and said after I sent him the cash by western union he would overnight them (from Romania). The western union address was in Bucharest, and I wrote him back how excited I was because my mother was in Bucharest on a mission trip, and she would just meet him at the western union office and give him cash for the units. He writes back (no longer excited) that he has a friend pickup the money, and he would no longer be in that city in a few hours. I sent a reply asking for him to name anywhere an exchange could be made, and he never wrote back.

I received the response (below) to my ad in the Airstreamer classifieds for my Safari 25' FB LS. It looks bogus to me what do you think? Has anyone else had a similar response to an ad?

Oh yeah, I get those all the time for ads on Craigslist. I like the way they are completely generic, they never mention what it is in the ad, or refer to it as 'the item'. They want you to repeat everything that was already in the ad. They imply they will pay the asking price, whatever it was, even if it was already in the ad. And the english is always awful.

I hate scammers who can't even take the time to personalize their scams - that's just lazy!

I got an email from a Great Britainer who wanted my Motorhome. I told him I could not deal with the shipping....at any rate it ended up selling to a Brit at the end, who arranged his own set up.

There's so many things wrong with these auctions I can't imagine why anyone would bid, but, as always, there's action on them ("seller's" got motorboats for sale as well).

Strange as it may seem, my '77 Excella 500 31' was purchased by a dealer (didn't know he was one at the time) from Germany (Airstream4u) and it recently sold according to their site. There are overseas buyers out there but you have to be careful in your financial transaction. He made the arrangements through a transportation company who contacted me several times after my bank had received the money in full in a stand alone account.

I reported this one when I first posted about it above - I don't know why eBay hasn't booted it yet. They also have a boat and jet-skis listed. They're all in the wrong categories, usually eBay will remove it for just that reason alone. I hope they aren't just ignoring me because I've reported to many of them.
