I can't remember the exact category I'm reporting them on but it's something like- a suspected fraudulent listing that I haven't bid on. I seem to get the ebay email back immediately. I wonder if it has anything to do with the power seller icon next to my ID? I would like to think that they are on to this one but I don't think thats the case because the last 2 ran until exactly the time I reported. Both times I went back to look immediately after I reported and it was gone within a minute or two. I think this one had been up for almost an hour when I noticed it.

It is interesting that the listings are gone so fast after a report.
If we put ourselves in eBay's position, we'd have to come up with an automatic rule that deletes bad listings by our scammer. If we deleted anything with a link to an external email, we'd probably delete too many good ones. The more good listings eBay kills, the more "pain" it feels on its bottom line.
But -- if there is a single report of fraud AND an external email link (and possibly the Airstream name) -- then they can be pretty sure it's a scam and delete it. The pain of eBay's reputation loss exceeds the loss of good listings.
If that's true, they are relying on users to police the system. We should be compensated for this, shouldn't we???
Your right GT! Ebay should provide us with a fee. One of my friends that sells a lot on ebay told me that he had received an email from ebay in the past offering a reward compensation for finding and reporting fraudulent listings. He said it was $100 per report. This is strictly hearsay...he told me this yesterday and I asked him to see if he still had the email saved. He may have it, as I've never known him to throw away anything! You know...we could really use that money for AS parts!!!

That auction that was posted this a.m. had a .o1 buy it now with a contact me before bidding....what has me wondering is when you click on this buy it now it automatically open a letter document window to the scammer I assume. I would be very suspicious of hitting send to anyone playing games with these guys, when you send an e-mail document to them it usually gives them your ebay name. I wouldn't doubt that they could hack right into your account if they saw you had perfect feedback.
That's where they get you. Never click on a link in the main body text. But what's really dumb is why would you even do it? You could have just clicked on the buy-it-now at the very top and could have owned that for yourself, for just 10 cents! I bought it -- I can't wait to go pick it up!!
Actually Ebay withdrew my purchase about an hour after I bought it. The scammer is really trying to figure out how to get this to last long enough to get some action. My brother told me today about someone that bought a motorcycle the same way for $7,000.00. He sent a western union payment and poof, no more money, no more bike. So it does happen! You just have to make sure it doesn't happen to you! Taking these things down as soon as they go up is the way to go. I'm going to go see if I can find one in general. I think I can search one out...

Ebay shouldn't even be allowing this type of listing to exist!
"Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only.
Email the seller to be placed on the pre-approved bidder/buyer list."
What kind of crap is this? This type of auction increases the chances that someone gets had! Ebay allows this type of listing, so you email him, he says if he sells it to you off Ebay you can save yourself another $500 and WAM -- you just bought this baby OUTSIDE of Ebay and you're just totally screwed!
By the way -- it took me 8 minutes to find and report SIX Fraud motorcycles!!

I may not have understood what you were saying before, but I do now! In the last half hour I have found at least 20 motorcycle scams. They compromise one account and then list 4-6 motorcycles in each account. I just found a new one that is very well done. They've somehow written html code that doesn't allow you to contact the seller or see their other items for sale -- nothing. If you try to click anywhere on the right it gives you a pop-up that says to email the seller directly at yahoo.com.
This is the most elaborate scam listing I've seen!! With Firefox you can't click on anything on the right -- it just doesn't work. With IE you'll get the email message.
What's killer about this one is that it's been running for two days and is still up!! Wow! I'm guessing no one has been taking by it so far, but this is the work of somebody WITH a clue!
I just notified Ebay about that auction, as well as sending the actual Ebay member whose account is being used a note about it. I am sure it will get yanked very soon, one way or another.
