Very happy and ready to begin planning our first trips.

How much over 20%? We just sold our 21' AS this week, we're going to a dealer who has four 2013 25FB units still in stock, just to look. :-)
We were really hoping to find a 2006 - 2008 25FB to replace our little 21 footer but they are none out there.

Congratulations! Enjoy your first trip!

We just did the same thing. We bought a 2013 27FB off the lot and got a 20%+ discount on the price. We are on our second trip with it and couldn't be happier. The price was right and it has all the basics for what we need. I'm sure we will add options in the future, but just getting in one and taking off was the best decision for us.

Where and when is your first trip?

From my research and calls I found most dealers invoice to be 25% off the Airstream MSRP- $1500 over invoice was the deal I was able to work and it was a grind. I felt happy at the end of the day to pay a hair over 50k for a 69k sticker and they gave us a free year storage. We added solar, Equalizer hitch and Prodigy RF Brake Controller.

It took time, we didn't make any impulsive choices- we wanted the right trailer for us along with the options we wanted. My suggestion would be to keep looking and make sure to really get what you want- as it gets into December the dealers will work harder to move 2013's.

Call around- look on the internet and good luck on the negotiation. This part I love, some people don't. You'd be amazed how many people just pay sticker or don't negotiate. In this case it meant $20k in my pocket (or not out of my pocket) in savings

Also as suggested by many of the folks on this forum- look the trailer over VERY thoroughly. I spent nearly an hour inspecting it and fortunately for us the trailer was built late April and hadn't had much time on the lot (in California). Look at the plate to see when in 2013 it was made.

I have to say the feedback on this forum has been amazing. I am very happy to be a part of the Airstream community- lots of awesome folks here.

Keep us posted and good luck!
Chris

Very nice- the 27FB is AWESOME but for us was a little big (towing with a Touareg).

First trips we are going to do some local beach camping in December to get used to the battery life, solar, propane use, etc. I have traveled more out of the country than in the US so we are eager to hit the road and see it all. Glad you found a great deal on a SWEET trailer!
