Asking for Price Opinion on 16' Sport at Colonial Airstream

I'm new to this and not sure how to go about knowing the value on an Airstream. I tried looking up the NADA on this one but there's so many options that I don't know about that I'm not sure if it was helpful.

What would any of you experienced buyers think is a good price for this 16 Sport/Bambi at Colonial?

https://www.rvusa.com/airstream-spor...ood-nj-2643315

Let's say that's a good price. What else should I be looking for or considering? Warranty? Hoses, etc.? Rock guards?

It’s difficult to find the original MFSRP but I think it was about 41k so that price is probably more then what the original owners paid new if you figure about a 10 percent discount. I don’t know how much that helps.
I can guarantee that they paid far less for it and would expect a significant amount of wiggle room. However the small units tend to sell fast and are in demand. I would grudgingly expect to pay 35 to 36k.

On another note take a good look at the 2020 Bambi. Colonial has 3 listed for about 52k.
Significantly more but with a solar option included which gives you a quality Zamp panel and two AGM batteries. There are significant improvements on the 2020. A larger combined holding tank, slightly larger fresh water tank, larger a/c unit, outdoor shower 15 inch wheels, 3 year warranty with coach net, and dc compressor refrigerator. The fridge will draw debate but a quick search will bring up plenty of performance issues for the absorption fridge on the 16s.

I would expect to get the 2020 for 45k to 46k.

Can not help with the pricing. You do want both rock guards (the plastic covers on the front windows) and segment protectors (the stainless steel add ons on the front corners). The small trailers are very popular. They also seem to be resold pretty often.

Hi

A key point to note in this is the fact that a lot of people buy these smaller trailers and then change their minds. That is an expensive thing to do. Before you buy *any* trailer, spend some time sitting in it and in the alternatives. That means a day or more at a dealer and the ability to do it at your own speed. Five or ten minutes with the sales guy hovering and "being helpful" does not count.

16ft Bambi

I have a 16 and I agree you need the rock covers on the front as well as the rear bumper for additional storage. These items are standard on a new one I believe. My wife and I typically travel with our 60 pound dog and the only thing that you need to be sure of is the bed size. I am over 6 ft and my wife is 5 10. length is no issue it is width so see if you can get comfortable. The trouble with AS is in order to get a queen the minimum length is a 21 ft. It is a great trailer plenty of room for 2 and a dog. We have even taken our 2 granddaughters and had a great time. It is also sooooo easy to trailer and park. Price....well....you have to compare what a new one would cost you and make a decision from there in my opinion. Either way if you want to try a trailer AS is the one because if you do not care for it as you can see they hold their value pretty well. Good luck and happy trailering

I think I'd call Mark Bensmen over at Dave Arbogast in Troy Ohio. He has a 2020 new 16 like the 2017 you are looking at. I bet you could come close to that CA price on a new model. 888-887-1125

Rock guards yes but segment protectors and rear bumper are not standard.

Wow, really? The Bambi in CA is a 2014 for $28k. You’re saying the Troy, Ohio dealer would be able to get close to that for a 2020 model?

Wait, my mistake. All these trailers I’ve been looking at over the last few days are starting to run together!

I’ve also been looking at a Bambi in Los Angeles that’s a 2014 16’. It has new tires and a Dexter lift and looks pretty clean. The seller has it priced at $28k.

Their website doesn’t seem to list their inventory?

I prefer to see what they have in inventory before I call and I like to get everything in writing before going there. I’ve just been hit on the head too many times in my life to remember all the details, etc.

Go to their web-site and select New Travel trailers, select Airstream, Bambi or other models as required. The drop down for each model shows in stock or order.

I just purchased a 2019 Bambi Sport 16rb (used one time) from a private owner. We paid $38,500 and had optional rear bumper, stainless front rock guards and roof mounted solar panel. MSRP showed $50,484 (without rear bumper and stainless rock guards). Local dealer says it was an incredible deal.

Doomstar,
The typical 2019 16' Bambi has a current list price of $51,934.00. With the year end pricing I've see on AS is as low as 25% off MSRP. Plus Airstream has an end user rebate as well this month. I would guess if there is some 2019's available, you could get it for about $38K.
Good Luck and have fun!
