Airstream Lien Recs-Florida?

I am about to buy a used Airstream from an individual in Florida. Where in Florida do you check to see if there are any liens on file in public records against travel trailers? Thanks.

You might try the county clerk in which the county the camper is registered. Or call that clerk and ask him/her that same question.

Jim
or look at the registration where it says "lien holder"

or

if they have a clear title, the owner will have the title

or

goto to the DMV where there in charge of keeping track of that info.

Registrations and titles can be forged, out of date, non-existent, folded, spindled or mutilated. This may come as a shock, but sometimes the guy selling the camper is (gasp!) not exactly being truthful. Usually, that can be sorted out at the DMV.

I assume the author of the question is looking for some extraordinary lien, like say a mechanicman or materialman lien. In many states, those are filled with the county clerk and not the DMV.

Just my 2 cents.

Sorry to divert the topic at hand... but, even though I am familiar with the phrase, I have no idea, in this context, what "spindled" means. Any ideas?

It's a lame attempt at humor. Guess I need to have that second cup-o-joe before I try that again.

Jim,

Your comment was appropriate and funny.

I was just curious what that term means. Apparently it means what it sounds like - "To impale or perforate on a spindle" I'm not sure how one could tell if they encounter something that has been "spindled" though.

The spindle used to be an indispensable piece of desk equipment in the office. You would spike papers on it that you wanted to keep in one place, resulting in small holes in the documents (hence the "do not spindle" for things you wanted to keep nice).

Here's a pic of a more modern-day spindle (I didn't have time to really search for one). The original ones were often gold-tone with a point at the top.

This was a great pic of a spindle I came across on my brief search. If this were your desk, and the cars were paper, this is how a spindle would work.

For the record I was logged in before Terry this morning. And that is hard to do!!

Some data on the server is corrupted and this has been passed up the line. Tech staff will rebalance the running gear and make the world right.

Susan, lucky those aren't Airstreams on that spindle.

Just for everyone's informatiuon, hdevans tried posting this question several times, but his internet connection must have been acting up, because it wound up in several threads. I moved them all to this thread, and was in the process of deleting the duplicate posts, when MY internet connection went south. The result was several duplicate posts in one thread, and a lot of grief for a new member.
Give him some slack, and remember, to err is human, but to really screw up requires a computer and internet connection...

There is nothing like the power of automation to enhance a deteriorating situation.

And, hey, he is doing the right thing. Asking for information before committing to a long distance purchase. Best of luck, hd.
