2014 Airstreams at discount?

We've been looking at used Airstreams to buy but they seem to be only marginally cheaper than new ones. The asking prices for 2-5 year old units are really up there.

We have a local dealer who seems to have a lot full of new 2014s. What kind of discount can I reasonably ask for on these "old" trailers?

Thanks.

Sadly, not much. About 15-20% less than they where. 2014's are still pretty "new". We spent quite a bit of time looking at late model used 2013-2014, the prices where just outside what we wanted.

if you're going to finance though, you'll have more options dealing with a dealer with ones that much newer. From our experience it's not until under 2010 do you see prices south of 50K.

15-20% off sounds pretty good.

Financing a used Airstream is definitely a problem. NADA values are far below asking prices and that is what my bank uses. I would have to pay the difference out of pocket.

Just yesterday I found a nice 2009 Flying Cloud with $48K asking price. NADA was $30K. Not sure if they are asking too much or NADA is way low.

NADA under values Airstreams from as far as 10% to 30%. Consider your Airstream like a classic collectors car.

We just bought a new 2014 and got 20% off with no haggling. Financing was done through Ally bank in about 10 minutes through the dealer. All in all a painless purchase.

mrprez. Can I ask where you purchased at? Looking at a 2014 right now and getting ready to start talking price with the dealer. Thx
