Hi all -
This question has been really in-focus with us recently as we've decided to travel far more frequently. Just a quick .02 on our experience...
- Tethering a phone is convenient unless you need to talk at the same time (which we do).
- We've used AT&T for many years but their coverage and signal strength often fall short of our expectations/requirements.
- Tried a Sprint card during the past two years as well, but wasn't even as strong as AT&T.
- Within the past month we picked up a Verizon Mifi device which has been the best so far for signal strength, speed, and coverage. Plus, it's a wireless router and you can connect 5 devices concurrently which fits our needs extremely well.
Even though very tempting, we just couldn't bring ourselves to go the sat internet route due to initial/recurring costs and comparative service reviews v. wireless, but would love to hear from someone who has one of these systems and their experience with them.
All the best!
