I stuck my wireless sensor to the inside of the tinted front window protector with Velcro. It's rare when we're camping that we don't put the window protector up, so the sensor is protected, and is away from the window, and will give a good outside temperature reading. It only has to transmit a few feet through glass to the receiver, which is stuck to the mouse fur near the window with Velcro. That way, if it needed to be moved, I could easily attach it somewhere else. But it's been working fine, and is pretty accurate. I have a second sensor in the refrigerator. It works fine too.

Mine is zip tied to the sewer hose PVC carrier under the front of the AS. The receiver is on the overhead cabinet above the credenza. It passes through the underbelly and floor. No problem.

Hi, this just reminded me that I need to move my temp sensor again; Inside of my propane cover didn't work either. I am going to move it to under my trailer, by my spare tire.

Prior to adopting the bag-on-wheel chock approach, I also looked for suitable mounts anywhere under the rig. Zip ties looked promising, but I decided, rightly or wrongly, that under the coach was vulnerable to rock damage and wet. The propane tank cover looked promising from a protection perspective, except it's often in the sun. All said, it's the refer information that's most helpful, and it's the channel I keep open on my base unit, as the outside temp is what it is.

A few comments:

I am a gadget and weather freak.

The two major brands for wireless thermometers seem to be La Crosse and Oregon Scientific. I have found Oregon Scientific to much easier to use and to keep the base and sensors talking to each other.

I usually buy a unit with both atomic clock and indoor/outdoor thermometer in one unit.

In the trailer right now I have two Oregon scientific units one in the bedroom and one by the TV. Both have projection features that show the time and temp on a ceiling or wall. Our trailer has a pull out drawer in the bumper. I keep the sensors in there. That seems to work fine.

This is the real Oregon Scientific online store.

Oregon Scientific Official Online Store | USA | Weather Stations, Digital Projection Clocks, Action and more!

The site www.oregonscientificstore.com is a retail store which is using the Oregon Scientific name without the company's approval. Their customer service is not nearly as good as the real company's. There apparently is legal action pending.

This is the one in the bedroom

This is the one by the TV:

No matter what I do, I can't get the links in the above post to point to the right pages.

This is the model of the one in the bedroom.
