sources for sinks

we have a 2000 safari 25 and would like to upgrade the sink and counter top. anyone done this? can you recommend a source for a stainless double sink?

what have folks done about countertops? corian? sources? would home depot make a corian counter top to fit if I gave them our old counter top?

any experiences would be most welcome.

There is nothing special about an RV sink. The manufacturers probably use the cheapest thing they can buy.
Pick one that suits your needs. Making sure of the dimensions that will fit the space.

Check out the SS sinks at Ikea.com too. Or if you can visit Ikea. They have a nice small square one which I like now. I put an Ikea round one in my Argosy rebuild a few years ago.

Ikea also carries solid surface as well. They will also do custom work. We looked into using it but did not use when we did our kitchen counter and table Ikea Butcher Block upgrade. We were able to DIY.

Hajoca and Ferguson are two big commercial chains that sell mainly to the contractors, but also will sell to the general public. Both tend to give crap customer service to women. Sorry, but the good old boy's network is really entrenched there. Just speak softly and carry a big pipe wrench when you go in.

Great showrooms, with lots of stuff from the mundane to the OMG! I never knew you could actually SPEND $3000 for a faucet set for a bathroom sink! Oh and the solid lapis lazuli vessel sink itself.... If you think Airstreams are expensive you're just not hanging out in the right places.

Pictures of the dry fit are here http://www.airforums.com/forums/f7/2013-fc-replace-the-countertops-144252.html I will send you pictures of the finished countertop and table.

BTW with our 30'FC I only had straight cuts and the round cutout for the sink which is hidden and that's a good thing.

My 2010 classic came with a corian countertop. It has worked out well. Corian can be heavy, but laminate over mdf is also, so you'll probably come out about even on weight.

It can be hard to find RV-sized sinks at home centers.

Vintage Trailer Supply has some much smaller sinks, not sure if they have doubles. Most of the major RV parts places have them - selection is the same wherever you go because they all use the same distributor's catalog. Try Adventure RV or Tweetys.
