In marine installs below decks, they can reasonably expect to get 20 feet vertically between the stove and the top of the chimney. That's barely enough to get a good draft. I don't know how I'd make it work in a trailer. I guess you could have a removable chimney section above the roof and put it on when you park.

most of the installations we have been around are maybe an average of ten linear feet of pipe... I suppose you could put a fan in there to help with draft... very pretty cast iron stove.. I'm familiar with the other styles, and Paul E. Luke makes a very pretty soapstone heating stove. Hmmm. I'm thinking. I've got to design a whole interior and do need a heater.

Just in case anyone is unfamiliar with the great Carlos, he did a tip top job on installing a nice, small woodstove from the MarineStove people.
One of the first mentions in a great series on his Safari remodel/restore is Post #51 and the mostly finished woodstove part of the remodel is Post #112. There's probably a handful of others who have done this, and if Carlos is any indication, they're probably more than willing to lend their experienced advice about considerations, planning, purchase, and installing.
Hopefully in about a month I'll be ready to put my woodstove in my '68 Sovereign! I've been slack about uploading pictures but you can be sure I will when I have the time.
Best of luck,
Adam (in NC)

I wonder whether the Empire LP heaters on this page would be suitable for RV use:

Fish House LP Furnaces and Heaters Empire, Atwood Direct Vent Forced Air Suburban

They are wall vented, like a typical RV furnace, but don't use any electricity.

Would have to be installed on the back wall because of the vent.
