Airstream BOMB SHELTER?

I am Planning on Converting my early 70's model Airstream Overlander Land yacht into a Underground Shelter

I will be posting more videos on this Project as it Progresses .
The Outside of this Camper will be sealed with Foundation Tar, the windows will be covered with fitted Treated plywood then a Layer of thick rubber matting , will be draped and strapped down , then Re-bar Frame will be welded Chicken wire, then a Layer of concrete , After That The 75% clay mixture of earth From the Hole excavated will be used to Ram and Fill Newly Made 100lb Sandbags , the bags will be used to build a Rammed earth Sandbag type Structure tightly fitting the Camper in the hole after that The Clay Earth Sandbag Structure will be allowed to dry and harden Then Waterproofing Matting will be Draped over the SandBags and Concrete will be overlayed ......... Plus Lots More of stuff that I will Have to figure out as I go
Here is a Short video I uploaded to Youtube on the project

That will be way bad on your axles.
Good luck and I hope you do not have to use it!

I'm sure you've really thought this through, but you neglected one important point: how will you polish your Airstream?

There is certainly no shortage of 30 round mags or ammo you are loading into them. How will you dump the tanks?

You got me there! I'm just not sure why someone wants to ruin a nice Airstream. Don't do that to yours! It's a nice one.

I don't know what you did to need a bomb shelter. Maybe you should make peace with whoever it is that's out to kill you, or move to Montana.

The only way I would do that to my "Stream" is to hide it from the BANK!!!!

I like the idea and I have thought about it myself. However, I would want to combine the Airstream with a steel shipping container where the awning would be. think I would want to step outside from time to time. A little green grass a BBQ for the MRE's and I would be as happy as a ground hog in winter. It would make a great wine cellar or camping spot in the dark of winter.

Only those that think of the impossible can be prepared for the probable.

If you balance the running gear before you bury it, you won't have to worry about it again.

Bunkerman - I'm pretty sure your home address isn't on Russia's, North Korea's or Al Qaida's list of "places to bomb in the 21st Century"... maybe consider just going camping like the rest of us?

Seems like a lot of work, and a waste of a good Airstream, for something that won't be "nuke proof" anyway.
