He wanted a refundable "deposit" to hold the trailer. Any thoughts, Airstream experts?
This is a choice that many have wrestled with.

One of the major advantages to newer is that (in theory) you can start using it NOW and spend your time camping instead of restoring. But if tinkering with tin is you idea of fun....

Every once and a while you can find a fully restored vintage unit, but expect to pay top dollar for a well restored trailer - and maybe as much as a slightly used, newer trailer.

The agent in belgium misplaced the title,
I just got a Email from them that they found it.
Due to this I won't be picking up the truck tomorow.
With a bit of luck I can do so later this week.
I will go to the port with a lot of tools and a spare battery.
Pics will come as soon as I have the truck overhere.
Thanks to all

Whew! I'm glad the guy in Belgium found the title. He wouldn't have wanted me to get my red tape scissors out. Ask Vanessa.

I have to say Remco, when you asked me for the tracking number, I had a moment when I felt like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. I'm deeply relieved the title was only temporarily misplaced. Hopefully, we have used up all of the bad luck available to one truck in any given decade. It should be a gem for you.

Here is a link with a few pics.
Again some misplaced paperwork @ the docks but 3 1/2 hour later we got on the way back home.
First I filled the tank It only took 23 liters.
From the 23 liters at least 3 leaked out The PO repaired a leak in the filler neck with duckt tape, Advise do not use ducht tape for this it will not hold.

The tank hold 20 gallon thats about 70 liters.
After 138 km about 85 miles on the highway the truck stoped.
No more fuel is this monster running 4 mpg ???
I got some petrol 3 gallon put in in the tank and got to the nearest filling station.
I got only 5 gallon and the tank was full.
Most likely there is a leak in the suction line in the tank, fuel pump gets air at a little more than 1/2 tank.
At least I got a little over 10 mpg @ 90 mph not to bad for a 454 i gues.

Thanks to hampstead The truck made it over the pond.

Remco is from The Netherlands. Having spoken with him on the phone and having been stationed in Mississippi for a short spell, I can honestly say his accent is nothing like one from the Deep South... although I can't say I really understand much said in either parlance.

As I told Remco, I know something of the "backstory" about the truck since it came out of my tiny hometown in Montana. I expect he'll find more duct tape, baling wire and chewin' gum repairs. Of course, it's far easier fixing those sorts of problems when the truck and its owner are on the same continent. Remco explained to me that the market for bigger rigs is much stronger in The Netherlands and there's something about owning or buying a truck over 25 years old that makes a big tax difference or something. When I gave the truck the look, I didn't see any evidence of crash damage. The 454 was swapped in later. The interior was rough, but Remco struck me as a handy guy with a box of tools. The dually needs some TLC, but it will most assuredly pull Remco's Airstream up and down the European road.

I have been following this saga since the beginning and am glad you have finally been united with your truck. Pictures show a great Airstream and I hope the truck serves you well. Hampstead38 has been very helpful and resourceful in helping you to attain your purchase.
