I have recently taken ownership of grandfathers 1965 globetrotter-it has been sitting unused for 10 years and I want to transport it across country so I can restore it. anybody have any ideas on how you can transport this-

A flat bed truck is the best way to go IMO.

Transportation Companies

Not sure if any of those in the link are in Canada, but there are probably similar resources available.

Shari

P.S. Congratulations on your new GT! I hope you get as much enjoyment from yours as we have ours ~

A friend and I are currently gathering resources to tow a (1948 model) Airstream across our state, and we are planning to use a 2 axle car hauler. Just check your height befoer you take off, you can't be over 13' 6", or you may have a problem going under bridges.

Cheapest, and the most fun!

HMMMMM, let's see. A 1965.....the axle, although tired, won't come apart; new tires, and a clean up of the bearings and brakes, then grease them......gosh, I think I would pull it home!

Have no intention of arriving at the grave safely, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, throttle in the other, totally worn out and screaming

On a similar note, who would you call to transport across the States? I have a line on a California trailer i'd like towed to the BC/ Wash. border. Jim

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new ownership. Make sure to post some pics and maybe we can trade notes if you need any info on the 65 GT
