Tow for Hire

We have a 31' Excella and need to get it from the San Antonio area to an Airstream park near St. Cloud, MN. in April or May. We'd like to hire the tow but would appreciate feedback on a few issues:

1. Where do we find qualified drivers?
2. What tow vehicle should we insist on? At least one company would use a 1-T dually, which we've heard would be hard on our trailer.
3. What insurance, bonds and other protection should we ask for or obtain?
4. What should we expect to pay?

Horizon Transport or others long in the business on whom you can find references are the best bet.

You'll probably receive bids based from one zip code to another. $1.50/mile, loaded, would be a ballpark guess.

Your trailer probably went from factory to dealer behind the same truck.

Insurance requirements are a matter of law, not transport company choice, so the coverage should be similar from one to another. Reputation is what matters most.
