I just saw that you want to ship from the Westcoast... That is the most expencive way to ship. From East Coast it is way cheaper. YOu could give Daniel from Airstream4u in Hamburg a call, maybe he can arrange a cheaper way to ship from the west... Say hello from Björn in Braunschweig...

Ricardo did all our shipping too. It was really nice and easy to do business with him! Ask for him...

Book: Taking your RV to Europe

There is a good paperback book called "Take Your RV To Europe : The Low-Cost Route To Long-Term Touring". Copyright 2005, so the information is fairly recent. It is geared towards folks in the US thinking of shipping an RV over to Europe and using it there. It has all sorts of information, including names of shippers, insurance companies, etc. Some sections could use a bit of updating but it still has plenty of good info.

swap airstream in US with one in Europe

I live in Baltimore, Maryland (50 miles from Washington, DC) and have a 25 foot airstream trailer to swap for a similar RV in Europe for several months around January 2009.
