Shipping Recommendation to Canada

There is a very good chance I will be purchasing my first Airstream from someone in the States and I am wondering if there is a list of recommended companies for shipping the trailer home to Alberta. Thanks in advance.

Tim

Hi, and welcome!

We got our Airstream shipped from Ottawa to Winnipeg last year, and we used a company called Select Classic Carriers Ltd. They are based in Saskatoon and here is their contact info:1-800-409-1733, select.classic@sasktel.net

We were very pleased with their service, and the rates seemed resonable.

I would love to have the time to head into the midwest and bring my trailer home. The problem is that it eats up a little too much vaction time for next summer. Even if I can find someone to get the trailer as far as Winnipeg, Manitoba, I can take a couple of days off plus a weekend to go and get it. Thanks for tips and as soon as I can buy a trailer, I will be all this forum with pictures of it.

Welcome to the forums. Give us a little more details, like maybe the length of the trailer and where it is located now. Who knows maybe someone, retired like me would want to take a trip to Alberta.

The trailer(s) in question are both early 70's tradewinds (25'-0"). One is located in Grand Rapids and the other is in Indianapolis. It is starting to cool off quite a bit now so be careful what you're offering Kent , I may take you up on it.

Hey Tim- Don't rush into buying a trailer in the states-keep looking- (I nearly got scammed trying to buy one on line)- Then one showed up right here in Innisfail-1972 25 foot Tradewind in excellent shape-and the guy delivered it to my back yard! Have never looked back-the best trailer we've ever owned-good luck-Garth & Joanne

Thanks Garth & Joanne. I think I'm so anxious to get one that I might be jumping the gun. As nice as the trailers look, you're right, I had better wait and see what I can find around here. Let me know if you want to sell yours

Also search over here in the Vancouver area. They come up for sale quite regularly. I got my '72 Tradewind from a fellow in Gibsons and he even delivered it to my home. Also check Washington State as I see them come up for sale regularly in the Spokane and Seattle areas.
