Shipping Question

I am curious... has anyone shipped with their Airstream overseas from the US to Europe and then also made the return trip with the Airstream. The thought if this intrigues me as well as I am sure it is expensive. Any thoughts, experiences and ideas for costs and shipping companies to contact?

We were curious, also. Found an excellent book "Take Your RV to Europe" by Adelle and Ron Milavsky. At the time (2004, I think) it would cost $5,000 to ship your RV and TV to Europe. However, they would have to be shipped empty. All clothes, plates, utensils, whatever would have to be shipped separately. The book contains shippers and ports.

As much as I would like I don't think Europe is a place for my 30' AS wide body and Suburban. I keep imagining pulling into some town center and that's as far as she'll go.

However, renting is an option.
