Shipping motorhome to UK -Help
Hi
I am hoping to purchase a Airstream 250 motorhome in Texas and ship it to the uk. Please can anyone recommend a shipping company and give me any idea on costs. Also can anyone tell me what alterations I will have to make to use drive it in the UK and Europe. If you know of any 250's for sale that would be appreciated too.
regards
Kirstin

I'm using Transglobal for my Airstream 345 and they quoted £1980 for roll-on, roll-off, from Baltimore to Southampton all in + Customs standard 10% and 17.5% VAT and they seem to have a good reputation.

Very True -
MY husband and I dont like the look of most motorhomes
Pity the Airstream is made so far away
The Airstream is the only one on the market close to anything
decent to look at - although the only one I have been in was for sale in the UK by a dealer it was a wreck and cramped inside -and they wanted a fortune for it.
I am looking for a person who just wants to make a bit of cash locating
and shipping one for us - a friendly sort and not a hard faced dealer.

Spent many years in Europe, they have, or at least had back then, nice campers, mostly small, mostly fiberglass, mostly squareish. But most seemed quite efficient, and made at least as good of use as of space as an AS. But tent camping was by far the norm. Good luck in your search, you didn't say (LILY) if you were looking for something vintage, or newer.. If looking for brand new, I know the factory does "Euro spec" campers.. expensive, but new ones here aren't cheap either.

I should hope you were old sport !
I know Im a woman but I can drive lorries ! so watch it !
Im a supporter of the Americans - I have a friend who flew B52's in the first Gulf War
The ones on your photographs look sensational - there is nothing here
to touch them for styling
We have a Kit car Replica Cobra that my husband built - that looks cool -
The command station from the gulf war we have looks cool - we have an old hymer motorhome that we have covered in stainless steel - looks good
we have a land rover 101 ex ambulance forward control - that looks cool
But I WANT AN AIRSTREAM BEFORE I GET TOO OLD !!!!!

-I havent seen one on the road in the UK
Problem is - There are a couple of dealers in the UK selling them but the prices are silly.
Im determined to get one over somehow without going to a UK Dealer
What do you call a LPG run vehicle in the States ?
Im confused as we call it LPG or GAS -
but I think you call petrol Gas ????

LILI
Here are two AS motorhomes which attended our UK gathering back in March held at Postern Hill, near Marlborough. Second photo taken at Caravan Club site, Kendal, Cumbria a couple of months ago.
So there are a few about.

Hi LILI, Do you notice these "annoying adverts" all the time? The only time I see advertisement in the body of a post is when I'm not logged in.

Annoying adverts attached
Hi
I will have to look
I dont want people to think I am advertising for anything
they're nothing to do with me at all
God knows how they get there
Im not that great using the forum I havent spent enough time
understanding it so Im baffled a bit as to how to get rid of them
Kind rgds
