Shipping Airstream to UK
Dear Forum Members,
My wife and I are currently working in the Houston Area and are the Very Proud owners of a 2010 Sport 16. In the near future we need to start making preparations for shipping the Airstream back to the UK so we can enjoy it back in Scotland.
Okay, firstly, is there anyone out there that has done this already and can give us some valuable advice, direction or encouragement as we have looked at various things that need to be done and looks complicated.
Secondly, Does anyone know of a company in the UK that can do the necessary conversion work for the electrics, etc (I'm not 100% sure what needs to be done).
And finally, this is a new Airstream we bought and have been using here in Texas, what are the approximate costs involved?
Hopefully if there are any fellow airstreamers out there that have had had similar experiences, I'm going to put together a guide which can be posted here at a later date.
I did ask Airstream Europe and they said, sell your Airstream in the US and buy one from us in Europe...now there's a Surprise.
