Exclamation Need '59 Tradewind shipped from KS to NY and ideas?

I have purchased my first Airstream. Unfortunately it's in Kansas and I'm in Montauk. Other original transport plan changed when my freind had a reversal of fortune. I have a small budget - $1000 any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I always remember the horror story of the Caravel trip Florida to New Mexico.....its some where here in the Forum,,,maybe someone can refer you to it.
I use this site alot to move equipment and cars. Just check 'em out and always have insurance. Good luck.

I don't know how much it would cost, but I know that forum member Frank Yensan aka 62Overlander was extremely impressed with "Buckner Transport." He said they went way above and beyond his service expectations, including calling him twice a day to provide a status update, and taking extra precautionary measures to stabilize the trailer when it seemed like it was suffering from the stress of travel.

Here's their website, I'd say it's definitely worth a call to get a quote:

Buckner Transport - Home - We move trailers: RVs, 5th wheels, travel trailers, and more.

Good luck!

If the trailer is road worthy and your budget is just $1000, you might just do a whirlwind road trip to Kansas and back and spend the money on gas. www.mapquest.com can give you a mileage distance. I think you will be hard pressed to find a company to deliver it to you for $1000.00.

Good luck.

Congratulations on your first Airstream! We think 1959 was a pretty great year.

Have you checked with AirstreamGuy.com ? The only way it may fit into the budget is if he has a reason to be in NY.

Worth a try finding someone to transport it, but I'm thinking - road trip!!!!

You can post the request on "UShip.com", there might be someone that will do it for that amount. Good Luck.

Is Your New / Used 59 AS good for the road? Were in Kansas is it. If it is good for the ROAD I might be interested in a Road Trip. I will check with my better Half and see what she thinks.

For $1000 you won't find a professional mover. I would think the cost would be twice that on the cheap side of bids. If you use Uship, check out the company very well. Buckner is my company and they are worth every penny. Where in Kansas is it?

I know of a shipper located out of Oregon that will be delivering a '60 from my house here in AZ to WA state today. They may be available after that. Let me know if you're interested and I can pass along the phone number via PM.

Welcome to '59 TradeWind ownership. You're going to love the '59.
