Moving an AS from Rhode Island to Baltimore

Hi there, I'm new to this forum so please be gentle.
I've bought a 1968 Ambassador from a couple in Rhode Island, and I need to get it to Baltimore to go on the boat to the UK.
The Airstream is travel worthy.
My original plan was to rent something and move it myself, but after looking on here that may not be straight forward.
Does any one know any body in RI that would be willing to deliver the Airstream for a fee?
I'm going over to RI at the end of this month to pay for the trailer, ideally I'd like to find someone who'd let me travel with them down to Baltimore and back up to RI.
Any ideas?

What steps did you take to determine that the trailer is "travel worthy". Determining "travel worthiness" is an important first step if you plan on towing the trailer any distance.

Have a look on the web uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves you state the pickup and destination then transporters bid - a sort of Transportation Ebay.
We found a company to tow our Airstream to LA.

Hey Finn thanks for that, just had a play with the estimator and it seems cheap.
I'm going over anyway to pay for the AS and pick up any bits it may need. How did you move yours from the UK port to your place?
I'm tempted to tow mine with a 4x4, I know you're not meant to in the UK because of the size but weightwise the 4x4 will be well within its limits.
Where are you based? I'm in East Sussex.

If I had a big 4x4 I would have done the same but I used Brian at Southampton Transport - info@southampton-transport.co.uk Tel 023 8039 5767
He is based at Southampton and picked the AS up as soon as it cleared customs he's great, he will store it til you're ready to pick it up and will deliver anywhere in the UK. On u ship I think feedback is the key I had some real dubious quotes.
I bought the AS in Nov 06 but it took an age to get it over here, it was lost in transit and caused me many a sleepless night!!! A word of warning get a spare set of keys cut. I stupidly thought that the door should be unlocked so that US and UK customs could inspect it - no the keys where thrown inside on the floor and the door locked shut. The customs didn't check it at all!!
We are in Wanstead East London and have just got the AS booked onto a fantastic site at Holkam Bay in Norfolk just up the road from the Queens Norfolk retreat Sandringham.
The forum really is a fantastic site I found Brian, learnt how to break into my airstream, how to rewire it and received emails from lovely airstreamers that I know I will really try to meet up with.
Contact Chris Haddon he's got a lot of info about transformers etc. and is a neighbour he lives in West Sussex - design@thebaselineshift.co.uk.
I've spoke via email - we are all friends now we have Airstreams.
