Importing an Airstream Overlander 27' to Ireland

Hi all,

I'm a new member and have a question about importing an Airstream into Ireland.
Can any one give me a name of some shipping companies who can do this for me?
I'm looking for an overlander/international 27' (1970s) for refit back here in Ireland so a striped trailer with a good body would be prefered, any ideas?
I read something in a post last week about shipping but can no longer find it!!
Sorry if this is an old topic/question.

Thanks for any information given.

Best Regards

Ken

Ken, we used Hill Shipping back in February to bring our 19' International and Porsche Cayenne over. They were great. Contact Jamie: jamie@hillshipping.com (tell him I referred you please).

They are out of the UK (Kent, I think) and so know the import requirements quite well.

Good luck.

Ken, I have a 69 overlander for $4000 that has a good body, working A/C, Zip Dee awning and could use a refit for the interior. It's currently in Front Royal, Virginia. That's not too far from the shipping port out of Baltimore. I don't know anything about getting it shipped but could deliver to the port.

I used these for my 310 MH quite a few years ago now, but know several that have used them.

Thanks everyone for all the information, it really helps to know that a transport company know how to handle an Airstream trailer/motorhome.
I'll let ye know how I get on.

Regards

Ken

I import goods to US from Ireland all the time, my vender friends export to Ireland. I use CAPS out of Rochester NY, they have an office out by Dublin airport too, call there ask for Dave Hogan, tell them Susan Banks sent you. I will be seeing them in two weeks time at a trade show at the RDS in Ballsbridge, i can mention you are looking to get help. It is all about weight and space on a ship. They use air too but ship cheaper. I use ship. Sbb

I am saying it is better to ship by sea than air. I am new with Air Streams and could not answer your question about a shell. A couple of years ago I was over for the trade shiw and caught a caravan show alsoat the side venue of the RDS, it was great, I love the Europeon caravans, very posh. I think CAPS is in Sandymount. I will email Dave to give him a heads up.sbb
