Airstream MoHo selling someone in Holland
Does antone have any advise for me selling my '79 24' Excella Moho to a fella in Holland. He has a broker in south Florida (I am in N. Fla.) and wants copy of Title and Driver lisence to confirm deal. Just curious if anyone has gone through this before.
There are so many scams out there..
Hi Dye904.I was in the auto business in S.Fla for many years, and during that time exported many cars from Pt.Everglades and Miami. The broker does everthing. As long as you have your cash, just drive it to the broker, give him the title and your done.If the brokers a good one it will be easy.Good Luck.
I have never sold anything overseas before but I have used a autobroker before to buy a new Lincoln. I can't imagine any reason they need a copy of your drivers license. If you send a copy of the title make sure it is stamped COPY in large letters all over it. I personally would not send my drivers license copy......
Dye,Its a common thing in the car business to ask for proof of ownership, usually mathching the title to some form of photo ID.As I mentioned before you should be able to do all of this with the broker if you are reluctant to deal directly with an overseas buyer. They are bonded and licensed to protect both ends, they are not buyers brokers, they are international shippers.Good Luck
