Video: New Video from our 2010 summer trip to Austria (Alps) and South Germany

This trip was also featured in an article at the leading German RV Caravaning Magazine...

We drove to Austria passing the Pass of Obertauern and on our way back spend a few days in Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle.

Enjoy :-)

That was really cool. Nice looking family and a wonderful trip. Music was as nice as the images. Thanks for posting. But did you... push the Airstream to the truck to hitch up??

Thanks :-),
no I did not push the trailer to the truck ;-)
Over here in Europe most bigger Travel Trailers have remote electric mover system.
You have a remote control and 4 electrial engines that engage to the wheels.
As we habe smaller roads and need to backup a lot into the lots of campsite this helps a lot.

In this video I used it to hitch up and of course n fast motion... ;-)

Well I knew the Internationals were light... That is interesting about the mover system. I didn't know that. That is very cool.

Aheun,

Thanks for sharing the video. I too am interested in the moving system. Not so much to have it for myself but just a better understanding. Electrical motors on the wheels? In some way is this motor engaged to the brake drum or some type of gear on the wheel hub? Just curious. Enjoyed the video and beautiful countryside.

Regards, Vinnie

Hello Vinnie,

the system uses one electrical motor in front/behind each wheel mounted to the chassis.
You can then manually or automatically engange some steel roles to the tyres. The are pressing towards the tyres with up to 500 pounds of pressure.

The enginge are then powered by the onboard battery and controled with a wireless remote controll.
Converts your Airstream in something like a hughe remote control toy ;-)

here is a demonstration video with a white box and another Reich Mover type....
An Airstream one with the new compact mover sytem will follow soon as we just did an advertisement with the manufacturer of the drives.
