Our Road Trip this Summer - Touring Scotland

Some photos taken during our four month trip around Scotland - apologies for the motorbike in each shot but this is our form of transport when sightseeing once we have set up camp. It's also cheaper than using the truck - the cost of diesel in the far north was £1.58 per litre (approx $9.39 per US gallon!!).

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and now looking forward to meeting two Dutch families (visiting the UK towing their Airstreams) in the English Lake District.

Awesome, John and Carole! I have not been to Scotland (or UK anywhere) so and greatly looking forward to enjoying more of your report.

Great photos!! Thanks for sharing!

Scotland looks amazing!
I'm from the US (Florida) so its great to see such a diverse landscape.

Also, I'm new to Airstreaming and the motorcycle option is also my plan for local transport.
I'm glad to see its working for you.

Well done!

I live in Cumbria UK (Lake District) 80 miles from Scotland. I have just bought a Bambi 422 to start touring my home land! and then Europe. If you like photos of Scotland and animal life then I will post you some. I would love to tour USA but its a huge country. Where would I start!!

This is interesting - how is it touring with a full sized truck and 25' coach on the tight corners and narrow roads of Scotland? I have been to the UK and (Scotland) many times and often wondered what it would be like.

How did you get everything over there? I know this is probably a dumb question. I've always wondered how one gets their Airstream to Europe. Are they very receptive?

Down the road from me is the Airstream factory (tebay, Cumbria, uk) Home - Airstream & Company
I saw a little airstream on the forecourt. (They don't make or sell Bambi's anymore) so a very rare model here In the UK and Europe. I have a small car Volvo c30 and it's the only one I could tow. So..... A bit of madness in my head and heart I bought it! Not picked it up yet. Every morning I wake up thinking what have I done! I have no savings left.
I could always rent it out to you guys if you want to tour Scotland!

Oh and yes they are expensive, but they hold their price. You can sell them for a similar price you bought it for. Fingers crossed anyway!

There is an airstream centre at the next village. Tebay, Cumbria. Three miles from my house. They had a rare Bambi 422, 2010 in their forecourt. They don't make or import bambi's anymore. They told me they can sell the larger ones much more quickly and obviously they make more money on them!
I have a small car. Volvo c30 and this is the only one it could tow, also the only one I could afford. Now with no savings left I keep waking up thinking what have a done! Have I gone mad! I collect it in two weeks.
If I run out of money I could always let you guys tow it to Scotland and the Lake District. Or even rent my house out.
