My Fairlane needs an Airstream
Hi out there,
I am Oliver, do live in Hamburg Germany and i do love camping.
As my 58 Ford is the perfect car for an 58 airstream overlander i decided now to look out in the US for such an RV.
I found your forum just couple of days back and am impressed about all i found here.
I'll start my searching together with a friend who lives in Denver and hope to find an original 58 overlander for restauration.
Maybe some of you guys have some hints or tips, how to find a nice deal?!
Looking forward to comments and to browse this forum

You have to host photos somewhere. I think you can host them on this sight but I don't use that feature. When you get the photos hosted online you can post a link here using the insert image icon at the top of the post window.

Welcome to the Air Forums Oliver. I want some pictures of your 1958 wheels. Yes, an old Airstream would look good with that.
If you start a thread or add a post, just scroll down to "manage attachments" pick your photo, upload, wait for that to finish, close that page, and finish you post.
For general photos, go to the box on the top of page, click photos, pick your category, and upload your photo.
Best to start a thread with 58 Ford/Overlander or such, in the right category, and keep all your photos in that thread or similar threads dealing with your Airstream.
At some point you will run out of free space and than you can contribute a $mall amount of ca$h, which gets you an AF Number, Decals, and a Title with Rivets for your Avatar.

Hi Nancy and Bob,
thanks for this upload.
I need to practise.
The Ford is little dusty at moment. Do not have much time to ride it these days. But it will be cleaned and polished before summer season (cruising it around gives me kind a relaxing)
This ride has a Thunderbird V8 with 380 cubic inch.
I got it when i was 19 (my god.....thats loooooong back) in an awful condition and did a frame up restoration for about 5 years. (2 girl friends ran away those days because i spent more time with the car, then taking them out for whatever).
I think it will look nice with a blinking polished 58 overlander.

Awesome combo, 58 ford and the airstream. What a fantasy, to travel Europe in a vintage airstream- great for meeting people, but the Ford 390 and gasoline, ugh!

Gas is 1,47 euro per liter at moment. I think until i purchased and restored the airstream , it will be 1,50.
The V8 consumes between 16 to 30 liter per 100km.
Lets not think about it.
Fun is first.
I am searching my 58 air throughout US at moment.
Anyone has a hint for me?
Up to 15 k USD is my target for an original and good shape overlander, year 58 with 2 beds

Welcome Fairlane.
OF COURSE you need a '58 Airstream! We all do!
My husband says everyone should have a vehicle that was manufactured in the year we were born. For him that would be '57, me, 1958. We just haven't found them yet. This is why I love him, and the fact that he puts up with my Aluminitis, going so far as to catch a case himself.

I was thinking more about the Airstream and traveling in Europe- many great photo ops, for sure! One thing, with the Fairlane, any thought of dual circuit brakes, and discs on the front? You can get kits in the US that are very good, use the same wheels but vastly improve safety, especially when towing
