Cool! I saw this thing for the first time in an Airstream book I recently purchased; "Airstream - The History of the Land Yacht". I thought this sculpture was really cool. Glad to hear it's still there and looking good as new.
That is way cool! Can you post another pic or two?

here is a link to the Atomium Homepage in Brussels. And some more pics...
Greetings,
Stefanie and Bjoern
Thanks for sharing the link. As a young person, living in Germany for three years in the late fifties, I recall seeing this awesome structure on a visit to Brussels with my family. It looks as awesome today as it did to me in my youth. I still have my old black and white photos. The link was nice to have as a reminder of the history of the expo. Thanks again.
Great pix! Wow another great reason to visit Belgium besides the great food, (chocolate and waterzooi)!
Come on over to europe!! You are always welcome!!! Maybe it is time for WBCCI (or AOIA or what ever they call the club in future) Ralley to Europe... I read in another thread that peole are afraid of traveling outside the USA, but be shure that you are safe and welcome here, as you are e.g. in Canada! There are so many places to be traveled to in Europe and with the new EU-Members in the old eastern part of europe you´ll need plenty of time. So forget Capetown to Cairo, lets do Istanbul to North Cap or Lissboa to Moscow!

Hi Bjoern,
I took this in 2004 while passing Brussels, just and they had just started working on restoring the Atomium. The area has changed some since the original Airstream promotional picture. It looks like you would need a telephoto lens and have to stand in the middle of a lake behind where I was stood to recreate that shot. This was getting dark about 7pm in mid October, so the picture is not so great.
Best,
Anton

nice to hear from you again... How are you?? Are you still in frankfurt and london?? I saw your atomium foto on your webpage before (at least I guess...). It looks really cool the aluminium of the trailer and the shiny atomium in the background.
See you around...
Bjoern
