I stumbled on this thread as the subject said "red barn Safari" I like barns and I like Safaris, so here I am.

I must say this is one of the most magnificent 50s Safaris I have ever seen. It is amazing you created this beautiful Airstream in six months. Most excellent!

I also stumbled on to this thread thinking I could help a new Airstreamer. Turns out this person is a 50s Airstream enthusiasts too. I took the liberty to suggest you might be able to help with this persons questions. Here is a link to the thread:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f73/...ns-129514.html

Anyway, fun to see these old Airstreams in such beautiful condition. Makes my Trade Wind look very average!

Galley cabinets

I did remove the original stove/oven because it was in an absolutely terrible position below the front window. I now have the new stovetop on the counter top and no oven. I now have more storage space a small counter top below the window and no interference with the bath door.

TV table....what the heck

I had a nice piece of formica covered plywood from the stove cutout in the Galley. Instead of throwing it away I made a small foldout table and mounted it below the TV and at a good height to be usable from the bed...extended or retracted. It gives a nice option....and I installed an electrical outlet right beside/below it.

I love, love, love those solid color awnings. I choose the dark green for my '63 Overlander.

Thanks Guys! I was not sure, or cared, if anybody would like a solid color awning.

Thanks....it was pretty tense for two days. I had a heavy duty barn for the Airstreams....I hope others without that cover type protection did OK.
